VBR Operating Values- What we believe

Externally Focused Values

Right to Housing and Homeownership:

We believe that every individual should have access to safe, decent, attainable housing, and the opportunity for homeownership.

Ethics and Professionalism:

We believe that REALTORS®, who ascribe to a code of ethics and are committed to continual professional development, are best positioned to provide accurate, current information and trusted guidance during the real estate transaction.

Private Property Rights:

We believe that everyone should have the unencumbered right to buy and sell property.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion:

We believe that the community and our organizations benefit when we embrace the differences in our perspectives, experiences and backgrounds, and provide opportunities for all to contribute and grow.

Internally Focused Values

We commit to open and honest sharing of information, clarity in why decisions were made and how the Association’s resources are managed.

We believe that more can be achieved when we work with others and share resources to achieve common goals.

We believe that it is only when we listen deeply and without judgement can we truly understand and serve the needs of others.

Exceptional Member Service:

We believe our primary focus is to serve our members and support their success in real estate.

We believe that to stay relevant, the organization – and our members – must be forward-thinking and willing to adapt.

Our History

The Vail Board of Realtors® was formed by a local group of real estate professionals in the early days of Vail. The Vail Board of Realtors® received its charter from the National Association of Realtors® in 1978. This was just over 10 years after Vail opened (1962) and a few years before Beaver Creek Resort opened in 1982. This group of real estate and Vail Valley pioneers saw the benefits of joining with the National and State associations to ensure ethics and professionalism in the profession and to protect homeownership rights.

The Vail Board of Realtors® is located in the center of the Vail Valley in Edwards, Colorado. The current space has been home to the Vail Board of Realtors® since 2006. The office space offers a Board Room and Multi-Purpose Training Room. The Vail Board of Realtors® shares the office space with Vail Multi-List Service, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Vail Board of Realtors®.
