2023 VBRF Academic Scholarship

1. Applicant must be an Eagle County resident, resided in Eagle County for at least two years and must provide proof of Eagle County residency such as a driver’s license, voter’s registration or another form of legal proof of residency.
2. Applicant must be enrolling in or returning to a college, university or accredited academic institution of higher learning in the fall of the current year as a full-time student. Provide verification of the institution’s statement defining a full-time student.
3. As an incoming freshman, the student must have graduated high school with at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for all four years. A returning college student must have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher the previous school year. Course selections must be at least grade appropriate or show higher academic rigor.
4. Applicant must disclose the cost of the annual tuition to the institution being attended and the amount of any other scholarship monies awarded.
5. Scholarship winners give the VBRF permission to use the applicant’s information for marketing

1. Failure to complete all the application requirements will result in the elimination of the entire application.
2. Checklist, Essay #1 and #2, and Letter of Recommendation MUST BE SUBMITTED IN A DIGITAL Format.
3. Submission DEADLINE is on or before June 16, 2023.
4. Applications must be received at the VBR office located at 0275 Main Street, Unit G004, Edwards CO 81632 or by electronic submission to areid@vbr.net no later than the submission deadline date. Subject line must read: VBRF Scholarship Application.

1. The decision to award any scholarships will be at the discretion of the VBRF Scholarship Committee. The Committee reserves the right to not award any scholarships in the event that no applications are received by the deadline, applicants fail to meet all the requirements, or do not provide all the specified information or documents.
2. A blind review of all applications will be performed to ensure fairness. Your name will be assigned an internal code to ensure confidentiality.
3. Scholarship winners will be announced on August 7, 2023.
4. The Scholarship will be provided within two weeks of receiving proof of enrollment. The Scholarship recipient must provide a photocopy of the student's college identification card and proof of current enrollment to the Vail Board of REALTORS® (VBR) office. This verification must be received by the VBR office no later than October 13, 2023. If it is not received by such deadline, the Scholarship will be forfeited by the recipient.

The following MUST BE SUBMITTED in a DIGITAL format and we request it be sent in the following order:

1. CHECKLIST
2. ESSAY #1
3. ESSAY #2
4. Letter of recommendation dated and endorsed to the scholarship committee from your academic advisor, guidance counselor, teacher, coach, college professor, advisor, mentor or employer/internship supervisor.
5. Dated letter of acceptance from the college, university or accredited academic institution of higher learning you will be attending OR proof of your commitment to return to school such as an official class schedule or other official documentation from the institution – must show name of applicant and institution.
6. Proof of Eagle County Residency (Drivers License, Tax Return or Voter Registration)
7. Copy of your complete 4-year high school transcript OR, if a returning student, communication from the college, university or accredited academic institution of higher learning stating your GPA from the preceding school year. If there is a gap in time, provide a detailed explanation as to what you did during this time ON THE CHECKLIST.
